World Read Aloud Day

World Read Aloud Day took place on February 1, 2023. It's purpose is to celebrate the power of storytelling and to honor power of reading through global literacy programs. It's ironic that it also coincides with the start of Black History Month. At any rate, a few of my author friends and I came together as we did the day before to crowdsource yet another story. This story is entitled, The Legend of BeeBo 2.0. We hope that you’re amused by it and we hope that it urges you to create and share stories of your own. You can enjoy this reenactment by pressing play on the video provided below. Please note that the target audience for this story is 8 - 12 year's old.

Moving along, I would like to take a moment to express my most sincere gratitude to Ciara L. Hill, Kim C. Lee, Michelle Knight, Christal Holiday-Firmin (also known as C. L. Holliday-Firmin), and Onyx. I mention them because this is the team that helped create the story. But not only that, each person listed is a mom, an amazing author/writer, friend, and a moment in Black History. Given that sentiment, I ask that you please join me in not only acknowledging these black women but also supporting them in their continued writing, storytelling, and programming efforts.

Happy Black History Month
