Trinity told me and her mom, Markeeter Knox that she wanted to write books like me when she grew up after I visited her school for a book reading and craft activities. Her mom asked was she too young to write a book since she’s only 6-years-old. I gave her the same advice that my dad gave me when I wrote my first book at 12-years-old. He said that now doesn’t wait for tomorrow. In other words you’re never too young to do what’s truly on your heart.
Brown Girls Have Superheroes Too was published through my company The Rules of a Big Boss on November 19, 2022. It follows Trinity and her classmates on an adventure to find heroes that not only look like them but that are close to home.
Seeing the joy on her face as she posed with her book and the one that she co-wrote with her mom, I Scream You Scream We All Learn About Ice Cream is one of the best Christmas gifts that me and my dad could have imagined. This book was also published through my company.
