Melody Peters, Youth Services Librarian, Perry Memorial Library told my Dad and I that the Covid Pandemic had a substantially negative impact on their children and teens programming. She resultantly reached out to us to discuss how we might be able to help matters given that we're all about empowering the world around us. We discussed a number of ideas but landed on a vision board party for teens.
My Dad and I partnered with Perry Memorial Library to deliver our Big Boss Vision Board Party for Teens on January 10, 2023 and it was a resounding success. We had pizza, cookies, chips, soda, and gift bags. We also shared lots of hugs, high fives, and laughs with our new friends. Best of all, my Dad stayed out of the way and didn't embarrass me too much. He was actually quite helpful. Please don't tell them that I said so because it might go to his head. And I don't have time for it.
Mrs. Peters shared that she hoped that yesterday could be a start towards rebuilding relationships within the community and "strengthening" their children's services programming. I placed strengthening in quotes because it's my word of the year for 2023. My Dad and I join them in that hope.
Thank you Perry Memorial Library, Boys and Girls Club, and Ms. Melody for having us. We had a great time. We can't wait to come back and visit y'all again soon.
Okay my lunch break is over so I have to get to class. Please enjoy the pictures and be sure to check out their calendar of events for more programming fun. You can see what's next by going here.
